On July 3, several of the ladies from St. Peter the Apostle Anglican Church enjoyed a Ladies Day Out in Abingdon, VA. We ate lunch at the Rain Restaurant and Bar in historic downtown Abingdon. We particularly enjoyed the fried green tomato appetizers! After lunch we saw the play "Church Basement Ladies" at Barter Theatre II. The play takes place in the early 1960's basement kitchen of the East Cornucopia Lutheran Church. The ladies of the church have followed a long tradition of feeding the bodies and spirits of their congregation! We all enjoyed and related as the ladies celebrated the good times and helped each other through the bad.
Overall a wonderful afternoon of food and fellowship!
