Bp. Perkins visited St. Peter's this past weekend. What a very busy and special weekend in the life of St. Peters!
Saturday
Bp. Perkins flew into Tri-Cities on Saturday afternoon. The Mission Committee took him out for dinner at The Chop House. Then they showed him around Kingsport as this was his first trip to Tennessee.
Sunday
On Sunday the Bishop both baptized one beautiful baby and confirmed two people!

Baby James with his parents, Gabe & Cora, and his grandparents, Casey & Daniel, during The Ministration of Holy Baptism.

After the Baptism, Fr. Paul welcomed James into the "Body of Christ's Church" and to St. Peter's!

After the Bishop's sermon but before celebrating Holy Communion, Bp. Perkins confirmed both Gabe and Casey!

Then the Bishop celebrated a beautiful Holy Communion service followed by pictures with James' beautiful family!

Before heading downstairs, the Mission Committee presented gifts to Bp. Perkins and Fr. Paul. Bp. Perkins received two bottles of wine in celebration of his visit to St. Peter's. Fr. Paul received gift cards and a Tree of Life plaque in celebration of the anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.

The church provided a lunch of lasagna, tossed salad, bread & butter,
and . . .

pecan, chocolate, blueberry, and apple crumb pies with ice cream & whipped topping!

A glorious Sunday at St. Peter's!

Anglican Province of America
Synod 2026

Fr. Paul and Teresa are attending the Anglican Province of America Synod the week of July 20 - 24 in Annapolis, Maryland. The Synod is always interesting both because of the experience of seeing how the national church operates and the joy of meeting so many other Anglicans from across the country. While all members are invited to attend, St. Peter's is allowed one more lay attendee with voting privileges. Please see Teresa or Fr. Paul if you are interested in filling this role as one of St. Peter's voting representatives!
Please see the following link for information on the Synod, agenda, and registration:
