O GOD, merciful and compassionate, who art ever ready to hear the prayers of those who put their trust in thee; Graciously hearken to us who call upon thee, and grant us thy help in this our need; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Teresa sent the above picture of Elizabethton, TN, taken Friday September 27 after Hurricane Helene went through the area.
Several other people shared pictures of the damage around them:
The road leading to Mike and Claudia's house.
The road leading to JP and LaVelle's house.
The tree that almost landed on Carole's house.
One of the three trees that fell in my backyard!
The pole in front of my next door neighbor's house.
Thanking God no one from St. Peter's was injured. However, a few of our members are still struggling with no electricity and/or running water. Please keep them in your prayers. They have promised to let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
Jessica is working with a home schooling group going into NC to provide aid. The aid workers take backpacks with them for different age groups of children (infants, young children, teens). They are packing the backpacks on Thursday. She will be at church on Wednesday night if anyone would like to donate items. Needed items include:
toothbrush
tooth paste
diapers
stuffed animals
baby wipes
adult wipes
books
toys
fleece blankets ( baby size or throw)
baby wash
formula
baby food
baby washcloths
baby towels
snacks (kids)
teens - razors/shaving cream/hygiene
Thank you Jessica!

Due to the hurricane, all mid week services and activities were cancelled this past week. However, we did hold all regularly scheduled activities on Sunday.
Thank you Fr. Mike for leading our Christian Education Class. Thank you Fr. Paul for leading Morning Prayer. Thank you Fr. Yossi for the beautiful Michealmas Service.
We were blessed to have many of our members at the services (but missed and worried about the ones who couldn't make it). We enjoyed a hot lunch of chicken chili, bread, and cakes provided by Teresa, Lin, and Laurel.
We also celebrated Fr. Yossi's birthday! Happy Birthday!!
Thank you, St. Peter's family for making a bad time a lot better with a wonderful service, wonderful company, and wonderful food!
