The church served a delicious catered lunch of meat loaf, mac & cheese, tossed salad, and a veggie tray. For dessert we enjoyed many different kinds of cookies. Thank you Jessica and Keith for arranging for and prepping the meal!

Next Week
Low Mass on Wednesday at
11 am with Fr. Paul.
On Thursday we have Choir practice at 10 am and Bible Study at 11 am.
Fr. Paul is leading a series of lessons based on the book The Holiness of God by RC Sproul. Please come join us for these interesting and informative Bible Study classes!
Both Christian Education and Children's Sunday School resumed this past Sunday. In the adult class, Fr. Paul is discussing the Articles of Religion found in the back of the Book of Common Prayer starting on page 603.

In Children's Sunday School class, we are studying the lives of different saints. This past Sunday we discussed St. Monica, the mother of St. Augustine. Next Sunday, we will discuss the life of St. Augustine.

Events and Other News:
Teresa's Swearing In Ceremony!
Teresa won re-election as the Municipal Judge in Elizabethton and was sworn in this past week. Several of us were able to attend the ceremony and celebrate this special moment with her.
Agnes was also there - it was wonderful to see her again!!
Fr. Mike attended in his American Legion Chaplain clothes - looking good!

Advanced Directives and Planning Event
The Mission Committee sponsored an Advance Directives and Planning Event this past Saturday at the church. Thank you so much Teresa, Fr. Paul, and Laura for all your help and information! Teresa provided legal assistance with Power of Attorney documents. Fr. Paul provided information and options for planning Memorial/Funeral services. Laura discussed the documents, information, and records needed immediately after a death to get a death certificate, plan a funeral, etc.

Fall Yard Work Day
Time to catch up on our church and yard maintenance after this crazy summer. The Mission Committee has scheduled a Fall Yard Work Day for Saturday Oct. 10 @ 10 am. The outside work includes trimming bushes, pulling weeds, mulching, etc. . . Please bring your tools! We will also be getting the inside of the church ready for the upcoming Christmas Season!
Please join us as we keep the church looking nice! We will provide pizza and drinks for lunch after all the work!

Isaiah 117 House
The Giving Corner
Jessica has set up 'The Giving Corner' in the vesting room down stairs. Because our support of Isaiah 117 House is ongoing and their needs are ever changing, she organized this corner just for the support of Isaiah 117 House. This organization serves all ages and sizes of children at their house each staying until the child/children are matched to a foster home. We will use this space to collect items including new clothes for children of all ages. Some of the items Isaiah 117 House is in constant need of are:
Monetary gifts
Gift Cards
Underwear (all sizes)
Socks (all sizes)
No used items
