The Ninth Sunday after Trinity

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

St. Matthew 7:15

Fr. Yossi led our Holy Communion service this past Sunday. His sermon focused on the Gospel lesson from St. Matthew 7:15-21 in which Jesus warns about false prophets. A true prophet's role is to receive a message from God and then communicate that message to the people. A false prophet, however, speaks that which originates in the human will. God speaks harshly against false prophets, occult practices, and other means of sorcery and divination. He instructs us to not listen to or heed the guidance of these false prophets. False prophets bring a message that is not from God and contradicts what God instructs - ultimately they produce "bad fruit."

Thank you Fr. Yossi for the beautiful service and thoughtful sermon! Thank you Hutch for serving!

After services we enjoyed a delicious lunch downstairs which included beef stew, buttered bread, Caesar's salad, chocolate cake, and apple butterscotch cobbler! Thank you to Rose Marie, Claudia, Misty and Hutch for the delicious food!

We also noticed Sam's dapper, seersucker suit today!

He was looking like the true southern gentlemen!

Then join us Thursday's at 11 am starting September 5 at St. Peter's as we begin one of the best teaching series on the Bible, Dust to Glory. Renowned Christian scholar, Dr. R.C.
