"Election, Christ, and the Christians Suffering."

Thank you Hutch for serving with Fr. Paul and for leading our Morning Prayer service this past Sunday.
Hutch has posted a sign up sheet for Morning Prayer readers in the Parish Hall. Please consider signing up for this important part of our services!
After services, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch of lasagna, Caesar salad, grapes, sour dough bread & butter, cookies, and Sand mud cake. Everything was delicious! Thank you Team 4, Melinda, Teresa, Fr. Mike, Nancy, and Rosalind for the delicious lunch!

Instructed Liturgy

Next Sunday, April 26 Fr. Paul will lead an Instructed Liturgy as part of our 11 am Holy Communion service. The Anglican instructed liturgy refers to a special service designed to explain the meaning and elements of the liturgy. This format helps all congregants understand the importance of the rituals and prayers used in Anglican worship. The format of this service will be our regular Holy Communion service with explanations but without a sermon.

St. Peter's Charity Support

This quarter we are supporting Isaiah 117. They describe their purpose as follows:
"When children are removed from their homes out of concern for their safety, they are usually brought to a child welfare services office to await placement. This wait can be a few hours to several days. These children often have nothing with them and are scared, lonely, hungry, and in dirty clothing.
Isaiah 117 provides a comforting home where these children instead can be brought to wait – a place that is safe with friendly and loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and snuggly blankets. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need while child welfare staff can do the necessary paperwork and identify a good placement.
The mission of Isaiah 117 House is threefold:
reduce trauma for children awaiting placement
lighten the load for child welfare services
ease the transition for foster families"
This Sunday, April 26, we plan to support Isaiah 117 House in several ways:
Jessica will come ready with all the supplies to put care packages together after lunch. If anyone has extra toiletries (new toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc) they would like to donate, please bring them. Also, they have requested new Children's Bibles for a range of ages.
Another request is Visa gift cards the volunteers can use to buy items for the guests (kids) as needed.
Collection of designated donations in the collection plate. Please mark your checks for charity.
Thank you to everyone for helping us support this important ministry. For more information please go to their website at the address below:
Several of our members signed up to attend a dinner/fundraiser for Isaiah 117 on Thursday, April 23 starting at 6 pm. The address is:
Discovery Church
242 Bethel Dr.
Bristol, TN 37620
Please note the sign up to attend the fundraiser is closed.
