And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Lent Begins - Create and Make in us new and contrite hearts . . .

Shrove Tuesday, commonly known as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras, marks the end of the pre-Lenten season, with Lent starting on Ash Wednesday. Please join us at Perkins on Ft. Henry Drive for a Shrove Tuesday meal as well as fellowship and lively conversation on Tuesday, February 18 at 6:30 pm. Please let Rose Marie know by 10 pm Monday evening (email or text preferred) if you plan to attend so she can make reservations. We hope to see you there!

Please join us at 5 pm on February 18 as we observe the beginning of Lent with Ash Wednesday Services including Holy Communion. Fr. Paul will lead the service.

Stations of the Cross services are scheduled for 5 pm on Wednesday March 4 and Wednesday March 18. A light dinner of soup and salad will be served after services.

The fourteen Stations of the Cross allow us to walk with Jesus Christ during His final day before the Crucifixion using fourteen scripture readings interspersed with prayers. Each Station represents one event that happened during Jesus's walk to the cross. We join with early Christian pilgrims in Jerusalem who walked the Via Dolorosa, which is the path walked by Jesus to Mount Calvary. Come join us in this ancient tradition remembering Christ's Passion.

The Most Reverend

Walter H Grundorf, DD - RIP

We just received the following information from Bishop Jones:

15th February 2026

Quinquagesima Sunday

Dearly beloved in Christ,

With the greatest sense of sadness and personal loss, it is my onerous duty to inform everyone that the Most Reverend Walter Howard Grundorf, DD, Presiding Bishop Emeritus of the Anglican Province of America and Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of the Eastern United States, entered eternal life today at 12.48pm EST after a courageous and valiant fight against cancer.

Words simply fail to express what Bishop Grundorf, our Most Reverend Father in God, our Apostle, and the chief priest and pastor of this Province and Diocese for decades, means to all of us. In this heartbreaking moment, we can only thank Our Lord and Saviour for the gift to us of Bishop Grundorf, and for all that he was to and for us, and for all that he has done for the Kingdom of God.

Of your Christian charity, pray for the blessed repose of the consecrated soul of Walter Howard Grundorf, Bishop in the Church of God, and for the comfort and peace of his wife Mary, his four wonderful sons and their families, and everyone affected by Bishop Grundorf's passing from this life.

It is appropriate that Bishop Grundorf should go to our heavenly Father on this particular day, Quinquagesima, wherein we remember the theological virtue of love given from the God of love, charity, the love of God for His own sake and the love of others for the sake of God. For Bishop Grundorf loved us all so very, very much, each and every one, and in his life embodied that love which is at the heart of Our Lord and of our holy Faith.

Soon, much information will be provided about funeral arrangements. Meanwhile, let us offer this prayer for Bishop Grundorf.

O God, who hast made thy servant Walter to flourish among the Ministers of Apostolic Succession in the honourable office of a Bishop: grant, we beseech thee, that he may also be joined with thine Apostles in a perpetual fellowship. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you so very much and God bless you.

In Our Blessed Lord,

+Chad

The Most Reverend Chandler Holder Jones, SSCPresiding and Diocesan Bishop

Our 'Burgers and Bingo Night Out" is back on Saturday, March 21 at 5 pm. We will be serving burgers with all the fixings for dinner followed by several rousing rounds of Bingo! This year Rose Marie has added a new twist to the game. She is asking each family to bring a wrapped present - the present is an item from your house that you no longer use (or never used) in good condition and you would like to re-home it! The winner of each game can either pick from the pile of unopened gifts or 'steal' one from a previous winner! Rose Marie will also have one grand prize supplied by the church for last game. If you plan to attend please sign up downstairs or contact Rose Marie.
