Fr. Paul will start a new series of lessons on August 20 based on the book The Holiness of God by RC Sproul. Please come join us for these interesting and informative classes!
Both Christian Education and Children's Sunday School are cancelled as Fr. Paul is taking a summer break. Classes will resume on Sunday, September 13 at 9:15 and will discuss the thirty nine Articles of Religion in the Book of Common Prayer.

Congregation Updates:
In Loving Memory of Margaret Little
We lost one of our cherished Anglican sisters, Margaret Little, on July 30. Margaret was a long time, active member of The Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd in Abingdon, VA. After that church closed, she along with several other members joined St. Peters. During the COVID years, Margaret moved to assisted living and finally to a skilled care unit. Margaret was an amazing woman - please see her obituary at the following link:
Fr. Paul officiated at the Memorial Service in Abingdon. Several of us, including Diane, Claudia, Ambler, Teresa, Elsa (another Good Shepherd alumni), and Rosalind were able to attend the service.
After the service, Ambler introduced us to 'Dwayne & Co. Restaurant' on Main Street in downtown Abingdon.

Congratulations to Teresa for winning her election as Municipal Judge in Elizabethton in the August 6 election. May God watch over and guide Teresa as she continues her work in this position!

Isaiah 117 House
We will have Susan from Isaiah 117 at St. Peter's this Thursday, August 13 at 6 pm for pizza and a presentation. She will tell us more about Isaiah 117, their needs, what they're doing, volunteer opportunities, and will answer any questions we may have. Please see the link below for more information about Isaiah 117 and all the work they do to provide physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting placement.
The Annual Deanery Picnic
St. Peter's is a member of the Appalachian Deanery which includes APA churches in East Tennessee, western North Carolina and parts of South Carolina. The annual picnic is an opportunity to meet the many wonderful people who are part of our larger church family. The picnic will be held on Saturday, August 29 at All Saints Anglican Church (15 McDowell Rd., Mills River, NC 28759). If you are interested in attending please let Fr. Paul know. More information about food and times to follow.
