Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

St. John 16:20

This past Sunday Fr. Paul led a very informative, interesting, and beautiful 'Instructed Liturgy' during our 11 am Holy Communion service. The 'Instructed Liturgy' is a special service designed to explain the meaning and elements of the liturgy. This service helps all congregants understand the importance of the rituals and prayers used in Anglican worship.

Benita shared this picture of Fr. Paul explaining the 'Instructed Liturgy' before the start of services.

We did not record this 'Instructed Liturgy' service but Fr. Paul has shared this link of an "Instructed Liturgy" service he recorded from several years ago:

Thank you Fr. Paul for the beautiful service and the explanations!

Thank you Hutch and Phil for serving with Fr. Paul at the altar!

Thank you Hutch for leading our Morning Prayer services this Sunday!

After services we enjoyed a lunch catered by the church including ham sandwiches, chicken fingers, fresh veggies & dip, potato chips, and various pastries for dessert. Thank you Keith and Jessica for arranging for this delicious meal!

A wonderful Sunday at St. Peter's!

St. Peter's Charity Support

Currently we are supporting Isaiah 117 House. We are supporting them in several ways:

  1. Jessica, Keith, Diane, Rose Marie, Fr. Paul, Benita, Lynn , Daryl, and Rosalind attended a fund raiser sponsored by Isaiah 117 this past week. At this fund raiser, St. Peter's donated money from our charity fund donations. We also learned about the work done by Isaiah 117. Both a volunteer and a young lady helped by them gave presentations. The young lady's talk was very moving as she discussed her experience after being removed from her family home along with her younger siblings and the help Isaiah 117 provided.

  2. In addition, Jessica and Keith purchased many items from a needs list given to them by Isaiah 117. Jessica brought in those items this past Sunday.

Our donations include children's books & Bibles, clothing for both boys & girls of all sizes, 20 backpacks, and several Visa gift cards for use by the volunteers to purchase specific items for the children.

  3. When children arrive at the Isaiah 117 house, volunteers often share cards with encouraging messages. Often these cards help children as they adjust to being removed from their family homes.

After lunch this past Sunday, several people created and signed these encouraging notes - including Benita!

  4. If you would like to support the Isaiah 117 House, please put your donations in the collection plate with a designation for charity.

Thank you to everyone for helping us support this important ministry - especially Jessica and Keith for all their work! For more information please go to the Isaiah 117 House website at the address below:
