Father Scott and his lovely wife, Rebecca, joined us this past Sunday for Holy Communion. We enjoyed so much meeting Rebecca and hope she is able to join us again!
Father Scott also showed us his Western / Colorado side today!

Looking good!
In Christian Education, we continued our study of The Book of James (Ch 2 v 1-13) which tied in with Fr. Scott's wonderful sermon! Diane made a homemade apple pastry/coffee cake and Teresa made lemon scones! Along with butter, clotted cream, orange marmalade, and Rose Marie's homemade lemon curd - we had a wonderful start to the day!

The Red Sea Miracle, Part I
Dinner and a Movie!

Several of us met last Tuesday at Olive Garden in Bristol for dinner.

We had a great dinner with time to catch up with members of our church family and get to know our guest, Agnes. The food was very good and our waitress was excellent (and patient with us!).
After dinner, we headed over to the Tinseltown Movie Theater for the special presentation of the The Red Sea Miracle, Part I presented by 'Patterns of Evidence'.

In Part I, the producers discussed two understandings of The Exodus. The first was The Exodus as presented in the Bible - over 600,000 men, up to two million people total, a long journey across a large desert to Mt. Sinai, and a large sea parting. The second is a smaller version of The Exodus (up to 20,000 people, a 1-2 day journey to Mt. Sinai, small, shallow lake parting) proposed by many in academia. The producers spoke with many different linguists, rabbis, theologians, etc. about both understandings. Part II, shown in May, will present information found in digs and excavations.

We all had a great time and look forward to Part II in May!
