The First Sunday after Trinity

"And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."

St. Luke 16:31

Br. Scott led our beautiful Morning Prayer service this past Sunday. His very moving sermon reviewed the Gospel lesson about the rich man and the beggar Lazarus. He reviewed Anglican perspectives of Heaven and Hell with particular reference to an article by Bp. Grant LeMarquand, an Anglican Bishop, entitled "The Hell You Say: Salvation and the Final Judgement" found at the following link:

At the end of the Gospel lesson, the rich man begs Abraham to send Lazarus back to earth to warn the rich man's family about "this place of torment". Abraham refuses because if the family refuses to listen to Moses and the prophets, "neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead." Thankfully, Jesus did rise from the dead granting us forgiveness of sins, resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. However, this does not free us from "loving our neighbors as ourselves". We are charged to see the current day Lazarus at our gate and reach out to help.

Please find the complete service at the following link:

Thank you Br. Scott for the very moving sermon and the beautiful service!

After services we enjoyed some wonderful company and snacks downstairs! Thank you to everyone who brought food!

This past week I found Mike hard at work on our front doors.

We now have beautiful red doors in recognition of our paid off mortgage! Official celebrations to come later this year!

Thank you Mike!!

This past week we finished refurbishing the kitchen. The floor was repainted, the cabinets were scrubbed, and a new rug was put down. Wow! What a difference! Thank you to Teresa, Diane, Sue, and Agnes for all their help!
