Unfortunately, snow in the mountains prevented Deacon Shoup from visiting us this past Sunday. However, Earl stepped in and led a lovely Morning Prayer Service. Earl presented a sermon based on the Epistle for Septuagesima Sunday based on 1 Corinthians Chapter 9.
In Christian Education we continued discussing the Book of James.

Fr. Frank O'Donnell and his wife Beverly were instrumental in the early years of St. Peters. Fr. Frank was the priest at St. Timothy's Anglican Mission in Swannanoa, NC but regularly visited St. Peters for several years. Fr. Frank died a couple of years ago and Beverly passed away in December of 2019. Our Parish Hall is named in honor of Fr. Frank (at yesterday's Mission Committee Meeting we added Beverly's name).
A Memorial Service for Beverly will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at St. Matthews Anglican Church, Weaverville, NC.

Another exciting week of cleaning! Earl and Mike worked on the small storage room right inside the back door. They started with this mess!

They moved everything out, throwing much of it away.

Looks like Earl was having a good time despite all the mess!

The result after our day of cleaning! Earl has done even more work! I will get a picture for next week of the final result!
Thank you Earl & Mike for all your hard work!

Lynn sorted through all the church records in the vesting room. This finished the clean up in the vesting room.
Thank you Lynn!

Rose Marie and Carole started cleaning out the nursery.

They made great progress but there is still work to do in the nursery - cleaning, priming & repainting the back wall and floor. Thank you Rose Marie and Carole for all that work!
We plan to have one more cleaning day this Tuesday at 10:30 to finish up the nursery and clean out the lower cabinets in the kitchen. Please come join us if you can!
