Moosie, the special friend of Scott and Sue's grandson, visited the church this past Sunday. Scott and Sue were given the important task of taking care of Moosie until they can return him to their grandson. He had a full day with us!
Scott introduced Moosie to Fr. Dennis. Fr. Dennis joined us from North Carolina for Holy Communion. His sermon discussed the ideas around Christian Citizenship as discussed in both of Sunday's lessons. As Christians we are citizens of both the Kingdom of God and the human political world. Fr. Dennis reminded us of Article 37 - Of the Power of the Civil Magistrates (BCP p 610) which states that the "Power of the Civil Magistrate extendeth to all men ... in all things temporal; but hath no authority in things purely spiritual...." In summary we are to serve God first, pray for officials, and always strive to live consistent with Jesus's teachings. Thank you Fr. Dennis for such a timely sermon!
After services, Moosie posed with the packers of the Samaritan's Purse Shoeboxes! We packed 26 boxes this year! Thank you to everyone who contributed and helped!
Carol and Sue....
Rosalind, Lynn, and Carol...
All of our boxes............
Carol and Moosie sharing a special moment as Teresa and Claudia look on!
Finally Moosie joined us for some after service snacks! He was especially grateful to Lynn for sharing her sandwich! Thank you Teresa for bringing the wonderful snacks. Also, thank you to Liz, Fr. Dennis's wife, for the wonderful spice cupcakes!
And Thank You to Moosie for joining us!
Just a reminder, next Sunday after services we will decorate the church for the Advent Season.
The 2020 hits keep coming!!
We are canceling our Thanksgiving Luncheon at Mike and Claudia's this Saturday. We are rescheduling for Saturday, January 9 - an after Epiphany get together!
The Symphony of the Mountains Christmas Concert will be streamed live rather performed in person. Therefore we have cancelled the lunch at Longhorn Steakhouse to be followed by attending the concert. Instead we will meet at Rosalind's for appetizers at 12:30 on Sat., Dec 6 followed by watching the live stream of the concert at 2 pm. Thank you Sue & Scott for keeping us up to date with all of the concert changes.
Please remember this is the last Sunday to turn in your pledge before Earl prepares the 2021 budget. If you are unable to turn the pledge in at church please mail it either to Earl or the church. Remember all pledges are anonymous! Thank you!
Many of us do our holiday shopping at Amazon. Please remember to go to:
and select Saint Peter the Apostle Anglican Catholic Church as your charity to generate donations for Saint Peter's. There is no additional cost to you but we receive a small percentage of each purchase when we are selected!
Teresa received a notice from Amazon that we have received over $235 in Amazon Smile donations since last year!
Sue continues to lead our weekly online prayer group on Tuesday at 11:30. Thank you so much Sue for taking the time each week to lead our prayers! If you have a special prayer request but cannot join us, please send your request to Sue. Please contact me if you would like to join us but are not on Discord.
