Fr. Paul led our beautiful Holy Communion service on the Eighth Sunday after Trinity. Please find Fr. Paul's sermon at the following link:

"Death through Adam; Life through Christ."

.

Thank you Phil and Hutch for serving with Fr. Paul. Thank you Hutch for leading our Morning Prayer service this past Sunday.

Hutch has posted a sign up sheet for Morning Prayer readers in the Parish Hall. Please consider signing up for this important part of our services!

Team 3 served an amazing lunch of jambalaya with rice, fresh summer veggies salad, potato salad, bread and butter! For dessert they served coconut cake, apple cake, and various cookies.

Thank you Michele, Lynn, Hutch & Misty for the very delicious lunch!!

We also celebrated Levi's 9th birthday!

Fr. Paul and Benita gave him a model of The Wilderness Tabernacle.

Carol gave him a great boy present - a dog skull she found in her woods!

Diane and Rosalind gave him a miniature drone with a camera.

May he have a Very Happy Birthday, a blessed year and a lot of fun with his presents!!

Diane and Michele joined Fr. Paul in black and white on this rainy, grey last Sunday in July!

APA Diocese of the Eastern United States (DEUS) Synod

Teresa, Diane, Fr. Paul, and Rosalind attended the 2026 APA Synod in Annapolis, MD this past week. This is the annual business meeting of the Diocese. Bp Jones gave the State of the Diocese report, Diocesan officers were elected, we received the treasurer’s report and adopted next year’s budget, and listened to special presentations from churches around the diocese. Teresa was elected President of the Laity for this Synod. Congratulations Teresa!

The financial and budgeting information presented show the APA and the DEUS are in good financial shape. Confirmations, ordinations, number of congregations, number of communicants, and number of attendees are all up across the Diocese between 2024 and 2025.

The Synod included a report on the Global Partnership Activities in Ecuador (8 churches), India (24 churches), Philippines (6 churches), Indonesia (1 newly established church), and Haiti (2 churches). All the churches were visited during the last year except for Haiti. Sadly, due to the instability in the country and the current risk of kidnapping of foreign missionaries, the Haitian churches have not been visited since 2018 - though a visit later this year is contemplated.

We also met up with some old friends! Lisa, Executive Administrator of the APA & DEUS, and Sue, one of our long time members - now in Wisconsin.

Sue's husband, Scott, now Fr. Scott, is serving as Priest-in-Charge at Holy Apostles Church in Pewaukee, WI. Before his ordination in 2025, Fr. Scott and Sue attended St. Peters for several years.

Fr. Scott's children gave him the beautiful stole he is wearing in the above picture with the following embroidered message.

In addition to the meetings, we enjoyed the closing banquet on Thursday night.

We met up with Fr. Scott Greene and his wife Maryl. Before becoming rector at Holy Cross in Knoxville, he was our vicar several years ago.

We had a wonderful evening with Fr. Scott and Sue.

And Lisa joined us at the Tennessee table!
