And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
St. Matthew 4:2-3

Fr. Paul led two Ash Wednesday services this past week. These services marked the beginning of Lent.

The morning service attendees are pictured above. I don't have a picture of the evening service but understand quite a few people were there!

Stations of the Cross services are scheduled for 6 pm on Friday March 14, Friday March 28, and Friday April 11.
The fourteen Stations of the Cross allow us to walk with Jesus Christ during His final day before the Crucifixion using fourteen scripture readings interspersed with prayers. Each Station represents one event that happened during Jesus's walk to the cross. We join with early Christian pilgrims in Jerusalem who walked the Via Dolorosa, which is the path walked by Jesus to Mount Calvary. Come join us in this ancient tradition remembering Christ's Passion.

Jessica sent the following update on the Constable Family.
". . . a quick update on the Constables. They are doing well. Stephanie starts work at Great Neck Tools on Monday. Physical needs are met, but it sounds like food and gas is still a bit of a struggle. "

Jessica, using previously collected monies, purchased gift cards worth $600 for the Constables to help with food and gas until Stephanie starts her job. In the beginning we agreed with the organizers at the local school to help the family through the end of the school year. Due to the generous donations from the congregation, we still have money in our fund. Jessica will keep in touch with them and let us know about any additional needs. Any money left in our fund at the end of the school year will be donated to the school for distribution to all the families helped by the different churches. Thank you all for your very generous support and thank you Jessica for coordinating this project.
