Fr. Yossi led a beautiful Holy Communion service this past Sunday, The Fourth Sunday after Trinity. His sermon discussed the Gospel Lesson (St. Luke 6:36-42), focusing particularly on the first verse in which Jesus instructs his followers to 'Be merciful like their Father'. He reminded us that we are blessed if we are merciful because mercy is something God Himself displays. Fr. Yossi discussed the differences between God's grace and God's mercy. In His mercy God withholds what we deserve whereas in His grace God heaps upon us infinite blessings we do not deserve. He closed his sermon by reminding us that God's children should reflect His mercy and therefore be merciful themselves. The merciful in this world are blessed in the sense that they know God's joy. The person who is merciful will be eternally happy because he knows God's mercy.
Thank you Fr. Yossi for the beautiful Holy Communion Service! Thank you Br. Scott for serving!

He will be using Psalm 133 found on page 509 of the Book of Common Prayer and the prayer For the Church found on page 37. Please speak with Fr. Paul if you are interested in committing to this prayer discipline.
2. Tennessee Governor Bill Lee has signed a bill calling for 30 days of prayer and fasting beginning July 1 in the Volunteer State. The resolution asks the people of the state "to seek God’s hand of mercy healing on Tennessee".
