"And Hannah prayed, and said, My heart rejoiceth in the LORD, mine horn is exalted in the LORD; my mouth is enlarged over mine enemies; because I rejoice in thy salvation."
1 Samuel 2:1

This past Sunday we welcomed Fr. Weiss to St. Peter's for the first time. Fr. Weiss's sermon focused on the Song of Hannah from the Old Testament lesson and the current state of men, women, and children in today's society. Satan has attacked the God created family of husband, wife, and children. Among other awful things, Satan has convinced many women to kill their unborn children so as to live more 'fulfilled' lives. He has convinced many men they are no longer necessary to the family. And now even the status of women is being taken away as biological men declare themselves to be women and take their place. What to do? Fr. Weiss advised us to:
1. Remember God created the family
2. Affirm Christian manhood and womanhood - teach our children and grandchildren to be gentlemen and ladies
3. Remember children are gifts of God.
Please find the complete service at the following link:
Thank you Fr. Weiss for driving over from North Carolina and for the lovely service this past Sunday!

Our next Women's Bible Study starts on Wed. May 3 @ 11 am at the church. We will use "The First 24" for our study guide. This is an in depth study of Mark 1:21-45 - the first 24 hours of Jesus' public ministry. The guide is available on Amazon.
Sue delivered the balance of the food the Bible Study group collected during Lent to Shades of Grace. They posted the following note on their FaceBook page:
"Thank you St. Peter the Apostle Anglican church in Kingsport for a donation of canned foods and staples today. Another faithful witness to Christ's mission."
Thank you to every one who donated!

Our back fence line was becoming overgrown with bamboo, English ivy, and all kinds of other weeds!
So several of us decided to take on the challenge of removing the over growth (at least some of it)!
After a few hours of work, we cleared much of the fence line! We ended up with two big piles of bamboo and some sore muscles!
