"And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God."
Philippians 1:9-11

Fr. Scott's sermon expanded on the first chapter of St. Paul's letter to Philippians. He started by pointing out that as Christians we live in the 'Age of the Church' - between the first and second comings of Christ. What do we do in this time? St. Paul believed God would continue His good work in the Philippians until Christ's return (Philippians 1:6). Also, every Christian's life is a journey - sometimes in sync with God and sometimes not. While our day to day progress may not seem like a lot to us, from God's perspective we are growing. So in this 'Age of the Church', we and the Church are to continue growing and keep conforming our lives to Jesus Christ.
