"And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net."

Fr. Yossi joined us this Sunday for his first Holy Communion service at St. Peters. His sermon focused on the Gospel lesson from Luke 5:1-11 which describes the miraculous catch of fish and the calling of the first disciples. Fr. Yossi's sermon started by reviewing the context of this scripture passage. He also pointed out this passage describes Peter's first act of obedience and reminds us God gives us everything we need to obey Him. Also, God uses flawed people just like Peter and just like us for His purposes. If Jesus Christ is in our hearts, we are ready for whatever God calls us to. Despite our doubts and failures we need only to let God use us in great and mighty ways.

Thank you Fr. Yossi for the lovely Holy Communion service and the very thoughtful sermon!

Lynn forwarded the following message from Shades of Grace regarding another need they have:
Do you have those leftover hotel soaps and shampoos just taking up space? Shades of Grace could sure use those for our men and women's shower kits.
Please bring any of these items to church during July and we will deliver them to Shades of Grace.
